L'oréal Sunkiss Jelly Review (dark hair!)
Are you like me, constantly wanting to change up your look, but too scared to go in for a heavy change with your dark long hair?
Then this is a great product for you, warming up your hair colour gradually without any precise highlighting skills required!
As hair trends have moved away from defined highlights to a more undone, naturally gradiant/ombre look, L'oréal has launched a product to achieve that fuss-free.
Inspired by how your hair looks after a summer holiday, it comes in 3 shades to lighten your strands. Now, as the product is originally intended for dark to light blonde hair only, I was a little skeptical to try out the jelly on my dark brown hair, that I had lightly "ombre-d" before. L'oreal's website suggests that on dark hair, the product will turn your hair slightly reddish (as normal with bleach on dark hair).
I wanted to lift up the colour on the strands framing my face and lighten my ends more. The result is very subtle ( after 3 uses so far).
Warning: I did get an ombre-dye in february. My pre-existing highlights became lighter, and my ends got a slightly warmer reddish tint.
Why I love this product:
- Very easy to use, no skills required
- No harsh but gradual results
- Smells really nice
- Leave-in product!
Recommended if:
- If you had an ombre on your dark hair before and want to enhance and refresh it without going to the hairdresser.
- If you have untouched dark hair and want to warm up your haircolour
NOT recommended:
- If you dislike any reddish tint on your dark hair
- If you have coloured your hair (not bleached but coloured, L'oréal only recommends this product on natural uncoloured hair)
How to use:
Apply on dry or wet hair with fingers. Can be applied on entire hair or selected strands. To intensify results dry in the sunlight or with a hairdryer :)
